The City of Coquitlam is committed to protecting your personal privacy in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165, as amended (the “Act”). When you are on this website, you are anonymous until you decide to identify yourself.

This website does not automatically collect or retain your email address in a database. The website does log your IP address and may use “cookies” for the purposes of analyzing trends, administering the website, tracking website visitors’ preferences and for gathering general demographic information. The logged IP address and/or “cookies” are not linked to any personally identifiable information.

If you choose to communicate through these web pages, your communication and or information becomes the property of the City. This means there will be instances where the City may be required (by the Act) to release your communication and or information. The City is not required to notify you if your communication and or information is released or compensate you for the use of your communication.

When the City receives your personal information through a secured environment, the City will only ask you for the personal information that it needs to provide you with the service you request. The City will use all reasonable steps to ensure the security of that information once received and will not distribute it to any third party unless required by law to do so.

In some cases, service providers may store of process data outside Canada; where this occurs, the information may be subject to foreign laws.
